Sophie Thomson

Marketing Officer

After completing a 12-week placement due to Adore’s collaboration with LJMU, myself along with a few others worked on building a Digital Marketing strategy for a sports agency, Thrive. I then received a job offer to work full-time as the Adore Group's Marketing Officer specialising in Content Creation.
Favourite Song? Pocket Full of Sunshine by Natasha Bedingfield.
Favourite Film? The Intern.
Favourite Podcast? Stephen Bartlett; Diary of a CEO.
What’s a surprising skill or talent you have that your coworkers might not know about? I do a brilliant rendition of Where Is the Love, by the Black Eyed Peas.
What’s the most memorable project you’ve worked on here, and why did it stand out to you? For National Biscuit Day, I made members of the Adore Group try multiple biscuits and guess which it was. I remember thinking it was the epitome of content, but now I look back and cringe, but I suppose that’s just a sign of growth.
What’s your go-to productivity hack that helps you stay on top of your work? Handwritten tasks are arranged in priority order, that are also divided into morning and afternoon tasks.
How do you like to unwind after a busy day at work? A nice bubbly bath with a glass of wine or a long walk.
What’s the best piece of career advice you’ve ever received, and how has it influenced your work? It's important to remember that your level 2 can be someone else's level 20, so don’t compare yourself to others because it will kill your creativity. Additionally, you should accept your mistakes as a learning curve rather than a reason to be hard on yourself.
What’s one thing you wish people understood better about your job or department? It’s a lot harder to get people into the staff videos … this probably stemmed from the biscuit video.
